1) When installing
one of the above connections, using the SNSIT TOOL, install the connector
grove (fig.1), into the tool saddle
2) The connector
sleeve should be in front of the cable supports, with the cable supports
closed around the cable, (fig.2)
3) Squeeze the
SNSIT tool handles until the ratchet is fully engaged and releases(fig.3)
SNSIT COMPRESSION TOOL CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
1)Open the tool
by closing the handles to release the ratchet.
2) Insert the calibration gage or a properly compressed Snap-n-Seal connector.
3) Close handle until ratchet releases.
4) The load, to release, measured at end of handles is 10-20 Lb.
5) Should the tool not release at the proper force, loosen adjustment nut, rotate cam clockwise to increase load, tighten nut, and check the force required to release. Repeat procedure until specification is achieved.
The tool should be checked for proper load setting after approximately 2500 compression cycles.
Proper crimp force is determined by taking the crimped connector in hand and examining the "o" Ring seal. The "O" ring should be compressed fully and evenly all around the connector. Recalibrate as required.
